We are seeking an “Industrial” Boiler Operator for Saturdays & Sundays for 12 hours each day on 1st Shift in our Maintenance Department.

A qualified candidate would operate, maintain and repair two 20,000-pound-per-hour wood-waste/natural gas fired boilers and ancillary equipment safely, efficiently and in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures by:

  • Maintaining the necessary amount of steam pressure and volume necessary to support production requirements
  • Making decisions on changing, starting up or shutting down boilers
  • Analyzing and recording instrument readings, control charts, operating logs, and hot work permits as required
  • Completing and documenting assigned preventative maintenance tasks in a timely manner
  • Detecting, logging and repairing malfunctions in boiler equipment, notifying, in a timely manner the appropriate parties of boiler problems that could affect emissions to the atmosphere or production output
  • Completing or assisting in the maintenance of the boilers as required

Must be able to:

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, mathematical and computer skills
  • Lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Climb ladders and work at heights of 150 feet above ground
  • Bend, stoop, and work in awkward positions
  • Wear personal protective equipment for extended periods of time

Looking for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude and previous experience in the operation or maintenance of boiler systems. Training will be conducted both on and off-site with required attendance at a one-week course in the fundamentals of boiler operations. Completion of all qualifications and company certification is expected within the first year.
