Masco Cabinetry has an immediate opening for a Health and Safety Manager at our production facility in Orwell, OH!

The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for all Health and Safety compliance as well as the implementation of all safety programs and policies. The person selected will support and mentor all Safety Coordinators, Building Managers and Supervisors in regards to Health and Safety issues. This position will require the ability to develop an employee driven safety culture by utilizing inter personal leadership skill. This position also requires daily plant visits and production floor involvement. Other daily requirements include communication with the executive leadership staff.


  • Perform on-site safety inspections.
  • Manage/Maintain all written safety Programs and training records.
  • Oversee and mentor all safety coordinators and safety engineers.
  • Support and guide all Building Managers and Supervisors on safety related issues.
  • Prepare materials for and conduct safety meeting for managers and supervisors.
  • Provide guidance to building safety committees to improve internal safety processes.
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct safety classes for all outside contractors.
  • Develop and conduct training classes for OSHA 30 hour supervisor training as well as maintaining all annual training requirements.
  • Investigate accidents to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and recommend safety equipment to maintain and improve the safety program.
  • Assist medical personnel in emergency situations.
  • Assist the Industrial Hygienist with monitoring tasks.
  • Formulate safety statistical data for monthly management review meetings or as needed.
  • Makes compelling presentations to a variety of audiences using visual ads and other media.
  • Experience with handling issues of compliance for state and federal regulations.
  • Combines judgment, extensive experience and business knowledge to make sound decisions.
  • Maintains company values and demands the highest standards of conduct for self and others.
  • Competently analysis and prioritizes information to make appropriate decisions.
  • Knowledge of Workers Compensation required.
  • Responsible for maintaining OSHA 300 log.

  • Assist the Workers’ Compensation Manager as needed.
  • Must be available for work on all three shifts without notice and as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in health & safety, engineering, industrial hygiene or related field or 8 years health, safety, and/or environment experience in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • 5 years safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation laws and procedures.
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.


  • Completed OSHA training courses.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or experience managing behavioral-based safety initiatives.
  • Health and Safety (H&S) certification.
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen activities and Six Sigma processes.
  • Experience with Safety Management systems.
  • Experience with OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP).
